Job description

The Crewing Officer is responsible for managing the crewing operations and ensuring the efficient allocation of crew members for vessels. You work closely with various departments to ensure crewing needs are met, and you play a vital role in maintaining compliance with regulations and company policies related to crew management.

These include the:

  • Crew Planning and Scheduling: Coordinate crew assignments, rotations, and schedules to ensure adequate crew coverage for our equipment on the vessels.
  • Crew Recruitment and Selection: With the recruitment company, you screen and select qualified crew members, conducting interviews.
  • Training and Development: Facilitate crew training, ensuring that crew members receive the necessary certifications, licenses, and qualifications required for their positions.
  • Crew Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date crew records, including contracts, certificates, licenses, medical records, and other relevant documentation.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to crewing, including working time regulations, rest periods, and certification requirements.
  • Crew Logistics: Coordinate crew travel arrangements, including booking flights, accommodations, and transportation as necessary.
  • Crew Communication: Serve as a point of contact for crew members, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and providing necessary information related to assignments, schedules, and policies.
  • Crew Cost Control: Monitor crew-related expenses, such as salaries, allowances, travel costs.
  • Crew Safety: Ensure crew members are aware of safety procedures, emergency protocols, and provide support in addressing health and welfare matters.

 

Your profile

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic new colleague with the following profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with crewing regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage crew schedules and rotations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with crew members, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions in a timely manner.
