Floating Transportation Solution

This solution features a floating vessel that transports monopiles offshore, in preparation for lifting.

Keeps Installation Jack-up in the Field

With the floating barge as the main transportation solution for monopiles, there is no need for the jack-up to return to shore. This saves time and money, as jack-ups are slow and very expensive.

Increasing Jack-up Workability

This solution utilises motion compensation on the floating barge to combat vessel movements, and to keep the monopiles steady in preparation for lifting. This improves workability as it allows longer periods in which the jack-up can lift from the feeder barge.

Undo Jack-up Payload Limitations

This solution undoes jack-up payload limitations by placing the monopiles onto the floating barge, which can be chosen with specific payload requirements in mind.

Undo Jack-up Crane Limitations

By compensating the monopile, the dynamic forces affecting the monopile are lowered. This directly lowers the Dynamic Amplification Factor that would then affect the crane during lifting. This increases the payload capacity of the crane, allowing for heavier loads to be lifted.

Optimised Logistics

By keeping the jack-up offshore, it can focus on Transition Piece/Monopile installation. At the same time, transportation of monopiles is carried out by the feeder vessel. This allows for transportation and installation activities to be done in parallel, saving time and money.

Jones Act Compliance

This solution is Jones Act Compliant when installed on a vessel of interest of American origin.
