Cost Effective

The SSIV solution provides a cost-effective option for lifting secondary steel onto wind turbines. In utilising Barge Master’s existing technology and equipment, and the Big Roll Biscay, cost is reduced significantly as one can easily combine different modules, without having to invest in the creation of a whole new vessel.

Time-Saving

The use of motion compensation within the crane of the SSIV solution, to compensate for waves and swell, helps to decrease downtime periods as the motion compensation offsets limitations cause by weather conditions. This saves time on projects by prolonging the periods in which work can be done.

Improved Workability

The SSIV solution provides a 40% workability improvement year-round resulting in 85 % year-round workability. With the ability to operate in significant wave height conditions of up to Hs 2.5, and wave period of 4-10 seconds, this solution increases the ability to work in difficult environments and decreases downtime periods.

Floating

The use of motion compensation within our solution allows for the possibility of working on the waves. Due to this, the SSIV is not affected by jack-up limitations such as water depth and the solidness of the soil below the sea, meaning that your project can happen anywhere in the ocean.

Modular

This solution is modular, allowing for different parts of the solution to be swapped out to meet your project’s needs. Through doing this, the availability of this solution is heightened as parts of the solution may be swapped out based on attainability.

Currently, the SSIV solution provides two separate crane solutions. The default solution allows for the lifting of 300 tons @ 25-meter radius. However, if your project needs something bigger, we would be happy to scale up to 500 tons @ 30–meter radius.

Motion Compensation Technology

Barge Master is renowned for their use of motion compensation technology within their systems, and their solutions. This technology utilises a mix of heave, roll, and pitch compensation to compensate for waves and swell during offshore installations
