Naval Architect
The Candidate
Barge Master is looking for an analytical and practical Naval Architect. The ideal candidate has a Master degree in Naval Architecture or Offshore Engineering. Experience is not required, however appreciated. The following competences will make you a successful candidate:
- Skills in mechanics (materials, calculus, dynamics)
- Affinity with engineering tools (marine simulation tools, Matlab, multi body dynamics)
- Knowledge in the field of hydrodynamics and vessel motions
- Creative
- Accurate and eager to learn
- Flexible (working under pressure, dealing with new situations and unknowns)
- Motivated and dedicated
- Good understanding of the English language (verbal and written)
As a naval architect you will contribute to the development of new Barge Master systems and work on assessing operational conditions of existing Barge Master systems. You will setup workmethods for marine operations and define interfaces between the Barge Master and the vessels it will be installed on. You will be involved in consulting specialists where needed, outsource work and manage subcontractors.
The job demands a collaborative team effort with engineers from different fields and disciplines working closely together.
